Ambulance For High Risk Neonate and Pediatric Patients Who Require a High Level of Critical Care
MedicWest and the Sunrise Children's Hospital Transport Team have partnered together to introduce a dedicated neonate and pediatric ambulance for the Las Vegas community and outlying areas. This ambulance is for high risk neonate and pediatric patients who require a high level of critical care. Sunrise Children's Hospital provides a higher level of care, featuring the state's only pediatric cardiac program and a Level III NICU for high risk patients.
Special equipment featured inside the dedicated ambulance includes:
- An isolate gurney for NICU patients
- Inverter to maintain temperature and keep equipment charged and incubated
- Fully stocked critical care unit resources
- Specialized pediatric monitoring equipment
- Ability to initiate hypothermic protocols
This dedicated ambulance will be used both for picking up patients in emergency situations as well as transfers between hospitals. With a dedicated neonate and pediatric ambulance, this vehicle will be fully stocked with high risk critical equipment for babies and children 24/7 to provide a continuity of care for patients between emergency services and the hospital.
