Oncology and Special Services

Pediatric Oncology and Special Services provides diagnosis and offers treatment for children with oncology, hematology and immune disorders. Sunrise Children's Hospital is affiliated with physicians who perform studies involving the Children's Oncology Group (COG), a national organization devoted to the treatment of childhood cancer. Patients will be screened and if eligible may enter therapeutic and research protocols.

Nurses employed on the pediatric unit have been specially trained to administer chemotherapy to pediatric patients through the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON). Nurses have also been trained through APHON to provide care for children with other therapeutic modalities associated with the treatment of cancer in children.

Pediatric Oncology and Special Services treat a majority of Southern Nevada's pediatric oncology cases.
