Trauma Healthcare Professionals Trained to Help Children

A trauma center must be ready to care for the most severely injured patients at a moment's notice 24 hours a day, every day of the year; with highly trained, specialized personnel who can assist in this level of care.

The Sunrise Trauma Program is an American College of Surgeons - Committee on Trauma certified Level II Trauma Center comprised of experienced trauma healthcare professionals trained to help children.

This entire healthcare team works together to ensure that once the immediate clinical needs of the child have been met, additional resources are available including social workers and child life specialists who assist families in coping with the psychological impact of trauma. Additionally, rehabilitation is considered from the beginning of the patient's hospitalization and may include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and/or an evaluation by a rehabilitation physician.
